4 Pork Harmony is the best tasting barbershop harmony quartet around. Specializing in 4 part harmony and slow cooked barbecue ribs and shoulder, the group has been pleasing Memphians for more than five years.
Ellis Young is the head cook for the Memphis in May International Barbecue Cooking Contest each year on the river. He also sings lead in the quartet, named after the team. He founded the BBQ team more years ago than we can recall.
Whit Winfrey cooks pork shoulder and sings Baritone, while Joe Broy sings bass and tends bar. Steve Cochran sings tenor and has a few beers.
There are only four singers in a quartet, but indispensible BBQ team members include Lou Savarin, Greg Detty, Jim Warner, Lee Franks, Steve Pendley, Ed Johnson, Jerry Austin, Ken Taylor, Robert Strong, Sherwood Platt, Jim McLane, and John Gordon.
Come look for us on the river side of the contest, and ask us for a song. We'll be glad you stopped by!
